Arrival Day

Today has been quite the day! Boarded a plane at 6:20am had 3 different flights to catch but I've finally arrived and am somewhat settled in. My last plane ride from Maui to Kona consisted of this little commuter plane. I met a few YWAM girls there and we all hit it off instantly. I think we were all just really relieved after traveling all day alone to see someone going the same place we were. We talked about what led us to the point of being here and it was a pretty good conversation for the first time! It got me really excited for the friendships I will be making here. After we got on this tiny little commuter plane..literally the smallest plane I've ever been on we arrived at the airport. We were dropped off on the commuter side and saw no one from YWAM...thank God we were all together and we figured out that they were at the main airport and a worker let us borrow her car to carry our luggage in while we walked to the main terminal. From there we got into vans, arrived at campus got registered and caught a bite to eat. When I first arrived to my room there was only one other girl out of the seven I will eventually be living with. Seven girls and ONE bathroom..... anyways after settling in I had time to think and a wave of homesickness hit me but I bounced back quickly! Met up with some girls and trekked to wal-mart which turned out to be QUITE the adventure due to our "short-cut" being a "long-cut" thanks to good ol' Becky! Anyways pretty sure I'm in for the night...early wake tomorrow for breakfast and ceremonies. Can't wait to meet people from my own Engage DTS.
